SERVICES

Caring for you during

your Sacred time of Pregnancy

and through the Birth of your precious baby

The way you're supported

matters now more than ever

You may be here because:

  • you’re thoughtful about who you let into tender seasons

  • you want support, but only if it feels safe, respectful, and aligned with your values & priorities

  • you want to balance your medical and holistic care

  • maybe you’re not sure what kind of support you need yet

  • you're wondering if a doula is the right fit for you or

  • maybe you're not really sure (yet) how to "prepare" for all things birth and postpartum

If so, you're in the right place my dear...

I'm Dhouha,

Trained Doula, Registered Social Worker and Mom of 3. I support women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum by:
  • listening closely to what matters most to you

  • bringing up necessary things that your medical practitioner probably won't

  • offering clear, grounded information, coaching and training

  • removing some of the overwhelm; helping you feel steady and prepared in your choices

  • and making space for what’s emotional, unspoken, or complex

I don’t rush decisions.
I don’t assume what you want.
I don’t override your instincts.

As a mom of 3, having had 4 pregnancies, 3 unmedicated births that ranged from traumatic to the best-experience-of-my-life; I've learned that you can prepare for birth yet most of us weren't taught! I've birthed my own babies and supported moms in hospital, at home or birthing centre. I'm here to help you make your experience empowering. I want to help you embrace it all and work through any challenges you're facing, together. So when you think back to your birth you say "it was blessed!"

Being a daughter of immigrant parents, a woman of colour and faith, I strive to provide care that truly understands our lives, values and priorities. My mission is to empower your choices, voice and capabilities around your birth experience. From using non-judgement to brewing you a traditional blend of healing herbal tea, my background and passion are infused in everything I do for my clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. A doula does not replace a midwife nor any medical practitioner. Your doula can enhance many parts of your experience in pregnancy, birth and postpartum by equipping you with tools, support, counselling and education. This helps when most moms express not knowing "where to start" to begin prepping for birth and beyond. Yes, it takes a village, and we love to be a supportive, caring and solid part of the village that ensures your well-being!

How does a doula support my birth?

Your doula offers continuous presence, comfort measures, advocacy, and guidance to help you feel empowered and informed throughout your birth experience. Often moms experience changes in practitioners, conflicting messaging from their entourage, or overwhelm with the medical system. A doula supports you as needed to navigate all that, prepare yourself in ways no medical practitioner will take the time to do, and to help you sort through information so you can apply it in ways that empower and support you. Doula supports births in hospital, at birthing centres or at home.

Can my partner still be involved?

Absolutely. We encourage partner involvement and provide support to both you and your partner, enhancing your shared experience. A doula does not replace your partner and can work with both of you based on your comfort levels and needs. Doulas who work with dads too find that the parental unit as a whole is more prepared and works so well as a team in prepping, birthing and taking care of mom and baby postpartum.

When should I book a doula?

I recommend booking as early as possible in your pregnancy to ensure availability. The sooner we begin to work together, the better we can build a trusting relationship where you feel wholesomely supported. I am available as a resource to you as soon as you become a client.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes, your first consultation is completely free and designed to help you explore your options without obligation.
